Weekend in New York

New York referred to as the big apple is an amazing place to visit where there is a load of activities to keep you busy where you can visit the world famous Times square other places to visit include the Empire state building, Statue of Liberty, Times Square and Broadway. We have included a list of our favourite places to visit while in New York.

Central Park

Central Park IS a walkway around a green area that includes fields and trees and there are places to sit down at various locations around central park. It is 843 acre in the centre of New York The Central Park Conservancy has the management of Central Park. There are attractions that you should visit these include the Ramble and Lake, Hallett Nature Sanctuary and the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir where there is a walkway around the reservoir and has outstanding views of New York, other places to visit include Sheep Meadow; amusement attractions others include Wollman Rink, Central Park Carousel, and the Central Park Zoo.

Empire State Building

The most famous building that is 1454 feet there are interactive exhibits a 102 story skyscraper in Manhattan in New York City built between 1930 and 1931 and designed by Shrewe Lamb & Harmon there are wonderful views from the top of it which shows all of New York and surrounding areas.

Statue of Liberty

Gift from France universal symbol of freedom and democracy National Monument that is located in Liberty island in New Jersey and New York to get there you need to get a ferry to reach the Statue of Liberty. The statue is located in the upper New York bay tickets are purchased at castle Clinton in battery park or Communipaw Terminal in Liberty state park there is a total of 154 stairs to the crown in the statue of liberty.

Times Square

Times Square Is a tourist destination and entertainment hub located in Manhattan there are shops, restaurants, theatres and digital electronic billboards. One of the most busiest and famous areas where Broadway Theatres are located the new years Eve ball drops here every year and is viewed worldwide Broadway Theatres which have performances in 41 theatres who have 500 or more seats located in Broadway and Times Square.

Brooklyn Bridge

Brooklyn Bridge opened on may 24 1883 it is a cable suspension bridge located in New York where it goes from the east river between the areas of Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Staten Island Ferry

Staten island ferry is a passenger ferry operated in New York it runs 5.2 miles and goes from Manhattan and Staten island and the length of the journey is 25 minutes. there are marvellous views of New York.

The High Line

The High Line Is a public park where there are fantastic views of Hudson river and the skyline of New York City the line is a total of 1.5 miles long where there are also must see areas which include the Chelsea market and the Whitney museum.

One World Observatory

You can go on a sky pod where you reach the top of the tallest building which is 102 stories and you can see Scenic views of New York there are places to eat and drink there is a tour that can be taken.

Grand Central Terminal

World famous landmark where around 750000 visitors every day home of the metro north where there are shops, restaurants, there is also a guided tour to undertake.

Madison Square Garden

Multi purpose indoor arena in new york in manhattan it has garden hosts Ice Hockey, Basketball, boxing, mixed martial arts concerts ice show and wrestling.
